Meet Tamara!

Tamara Wellons is an artist who leads with soul, intention, and presence.
Rooted in Southern Virginia and shaped by the creative energy of the DMV, she brings a voice that is both soothing and commanding. She is captivating audiences through sound, storytelling, and connection.

Her artistry has carried her to stages such as Carnegie Hall and into memorable moments like honoring Dionne Warwick at Bowie State University, where Tamara was formally crowned Miss Bowie State University. Her latest single, “Ode to Ivor,” inspired the documentary Watching and Waiting: Ode to Ivor, a tribute to Black rural heritage and the community that raised her.

As Founder of Her Dreams Productions, Tamara leads two signature programs: Young Artists and Musicians Zone (YAMZ), which brings cultural enrichment to schools, and Creative Rx, which uses the arts to support wellness in hospital systems. Her work blends artistry and leadership to uplift communities in meaningful, lasting ways.

Tamara also serves as a National Trustee of the Recording Academy, advocating for creators and amplifying pathways for artists nationwide.

With every note, every program she builds, and every room she enters, Tamara Wellons creates spaces where people feel connected, inspired, and deeply seen.
